Interior Designs Trends for 2021

It’s the time of the year where we look back at the trends of the previous season, where we wonder what’s going to be the inspiration for the upcoming year. Few trends bring strong impressions in 2019 are the velvet furnishings, floral prints, and geometric patterns. With the impression of the artistry shown in 2019-2020, what lies ahead? How will our interior designs evolve in the coming years? These are the trends we can expect for 2021.

Canopy Beds

Canopy beds are getting more luxurious in this era. In the previous time, solid wood is used to support each side of the bed but during the past few years, steel frame and slatted wood are utilized to provide a support system to the bed. Additionally, it provides support for memory foam, spring, latex, and hybrid. They are adorned with sheer curtains with neutral colors. For kids who love pink color scheme sheer baby pink and dusty pink are preferred. They also provide drama and a sexy vibe to a couple’s room or master’s bedroom.

Synergy Tone

The year 2020 is the year of classic blue. It represents the color of the sky and echoes the color of the ocean. Since the Covid-19 pandemic breakout interior designers are turning the trend color to a synergy palette that symbolizes technology and social transformations. Mauve greyed lilac and watery teal harbor blue are color palettes representing interior designs of 2021. Of course classic blue is still going to be one of the color favorites for the upcoming season.

Curved Shapes Furniture

For the bigger or smaller house, we can introduce curved shapes of furniture. It has been a trend in the ’60s. Now, it’s starting to receive popularity for the year 2021. Straight lines have been the highlights for many decades; we can say it’s predictable and a bit ordinary. Curved countertops, curved carpet shapes, and even long sofas are the most intriguing and attractive trends for furniture designs. The return of this trend is something we can look forward to in 2021.

Eco Designs and Interior Gardens

Most of the interior designers are promoting eco-interpretations of familiar designs. Eco- doesn’t mean using eco-friendly materials or recycling raw materials but also a homeowner’s way of lifestyle and perception. The emphasis of eco-friendly interior designs for 2021 will be creating simple, neat, and having space that radiates freshness or a pristine atmosphere. Organic upholstery fabrics are preferable for this type of interior that helps preserve fresh and cooler air inside the house. Interior gardens might catch people’s attention too. Adding real plants inside the living room or hanging plants on the wall provides connections between humans and nature.

 Lighting Designs

Antique fixtures or chandeliers will give less lighting but more appearances are one of the trends in 2021 that people might be a surprise. Rustic style in the form of a wooden wheel with wrought-iron “candlesticks” will provide a modern and laconic design in any room. This lighting design might neutralize the classic vibe in the coming years. Moreover, Chandeliers in eco-style would be in style too. The light composition made of wood and frosted glass looks attractive in any position.

Wallpaper agate

There aren’t any differences between 2020 and 2021 when it comes to wallpapers.  The year 2020 was the time when the wallpapers were used as interior design. Wallpaper “agate” is a new trend that shakes interior design. It provides a different texture and creative approach in a space or room. Somehow it is complementary with eco-designs that interior designers are trying to present.

Mixed-use Spaces

Having a mixed-used area means that there are no boundaries in the floor plan. They are interconnected or merged that create a large space for the living room, kitchen, and dining area. They look connected; of course, they have to provide individual functionalities. This type of floor planning might be challenging for interior designers.

This year appears to be the most challenging and depressing for everyone. But it shouldn’t affect our perspectives; we have to keep moving forward for a better future. We might not forget what happened at this time because it will be part of our history, neither the trends. Trends would come and go. It will repeat itself again and again.
