Fix The Exterior
Even if you love the inside of your home, and you don’t want to modernize it or don’t feel it needs to be updated, what about the outside? It’s easy to forget about the exterior because you don’t see it that often – only when you enter and exit the property. So what can be done?
To begin with, it’s a good idea to change the doors. A solid front door is a security investment, but it can also change the entire look of your home and make it more modern, especially if you pick something in a bright, bold color. Don’t forget to look at doors for garages too; if you change one door, you should update the other to ensure a cohesive look.
Use Bold Colors
Speaking of bold colors, they’re ideal to use inside as well. You won’t want too many of them, as this will make the house hectic and potentially uncomfortable, but a feature wall in each room is a great way to add some color to your home without going overboard.

Add Rugs
Rugs are an excellent, easy, and fun way to modernize your home. You can spend a lot on rugs or spend very little indeed – you can even make them yourself – so they will suit any budget. Plus, you’ll be able to find something that matches every theme and décor choice.
Carpeting is good, but when the colors or styles you have chosen go out of date, it will cost a lot to change your flooring. A better option is to have wooden or laminate flooring in a neutral wood tone and then put rugs over the top. Since you can change the rugs any time you want to, you can change – and update – your home whenever you want.
