When handling electricals, it is important to note that many different types exist. A home has various wiring systems before the electric current can be open. Electricians must be familiar with these types of wiring as they conduct repairs or installations. Some of these require preparation. Why? Mishandling of wires can lead to short circuits.
There are also wiring installations that carry specific loads of electricity. So let’s say if one wiring carries a different load and connects to another system, it may not carry the needed load. So every room in the house needs wiring systems to carry the current.
During home renovation or repair, here are the five types of wiring installments you can do.
The first wiring installation requires using PVC insulated wires or ordinary VIR. They will be placed on the walls directly with plastic, porcelain, or wooden cleats. However, most houses do not use this method as it is temporary wiring. Notably, it is not suitable for any residential wiring. Furthermore, any damage will be permanent since the wire is exposed to various elements. It is why it is mostly used in construction than the finished product.
Batten wiring is the standard wiring installation method today. It uses TRS cables that are either single, double, or triple-core. Most electricians use single-core TRS cables because all of them are chemical-proof. Inside the house, the cables are installed on the walls or ceilings using screws or plugs. Electricians can lay it on a single electrical wire or a group of wires.
This type of wiring comes in two variants: Concealed and Surface. For example, surface conduit wiring occurs on the roof or walls in a 2-hole strap at equal distances. Wires are then placed inside the conduits for installation. On the other hand, concealed conduit wiring is done inside the walls. Like the surface wiring, wires are also installed there. However, compared to that, you will not see the wires in the room once installed. In addition, it makes it clean to look at.
Most residences use concealed conduit wiring because it saves space. Surface wiring is mostly done on heavy equipment to link their motors. Depending on your home, it is possible to use both. Wiring from Royu can give you these types of wiring. Let your electrician decide on which one is better.
Lead sheathed wiring is one of the least-used methods. Here, it uses wiring conductors that are insulated with VIR. The outer sheath is made of aluminum alloy and protects from damage and moisture. However, the presence of lead in the wiring can be harmful even during installation.
Lastly, the casing and capping method is one of the most expensive. It was used back then since PVC and VIR are accepted along with other types. The wiring has to go through a wood casing with grooves at intervals. It also has to be cut parallel lengthwise to carry more wires. Because of this setup, there is a possibility of short circuits with the number of wires used.
These types of wiring installations are standard practices done by professionals. Since you know how the electrical wiring works, the next step is to choose which is best. Your home may need a repair of electrical wiring one day.
