How to Deep Clean Your Yard

Last Updated on March 25, 2022 by Kravelv

We have all heard of deep cleaning our house, our oven and even our face, but unless you are naturally green fingered or clean fingered, the yard might be last on your deep clean to-do list. But there are some good reasons to deep clean your yard, and maybe the best one is the absolute shock you will experience when you see what your backyard patio tiles originally looked like when they were put down.

If you are interested in not only bringing your yard back to life, but making it look as good as new, keep on reading to find out how!

Clean and Re-Paint the Fence

Fences are one of the fastest things to go in the yard in terms of weathering. They really do take a battering under extreme weather conditions, and the elements can affect the wood with mold or rot, strip or peel the paint off, or make the structure weak. On inspection, you may find that your fence is structurally sound, but needs a little bit of TLC. To prepare it for painting, clean your fence with some warm soapy water and remove any paint or varnish so your fence is stripped back to bare-wood. Then re-wash the planks and allow them to dry for a few days. You are then ready to paint or varnish your fence again.

Re-Grout

So much dirt and other build up can get inside the tile cracks and grouting lines outside. From seemingly unbeatable weeds to other outside debris, plenty of rubble makes a home in between your patio slabs, and can leave your yard looking dull, drab, and unclean. Re-grouting is an excellent way to not only maintain your property, but also make your yard look completely transformed. Make sure to get quality tools from a reputable company such as arbourlandscapesolutions.co.uk to help you create a flawless finish.

Invest in a Pressure Washer

Aside from the fact pressure washers are extremely fun to use, and versatile in what they can clean, they have an almost unmatchable knack for helping well-worn items look brand new again. If you have never cleaned your patio area before, you might well be in for a shock, because the before and after difference can be outstanding. Be sure to start from one corner and work your way to the other end, being thorough with the water strokes and make sure you wear some protective shoes and clothing that you do not mind getting dirty.

Clean and Re-paint Your Outdoor Furniture

Whether you have quality permanent fixtures in your yard or you bring out your furniture when the weather starts becoming cook-out weather, they will benefit from a good clean and a refurbish. Of course, if your furniture is outside all year round, it will probably require a bit more refurbishing than those that are stored away in a shed. But even so, furniture that has been stored away for a while can become dusty and dull, which gives you the perfect reason to refresh them and complement all of your hard yard work!
