Building a house is a time consuming project to be involved in and requires many decisions as well as quite often, a good deal of money! Being environmentally friendly has become more and more relevant as the years go on but it also helps if being environmentally friendly can actually save the project owner money in the long term.

Some environmentally friendly projects for a house build can require an initial large outlay of money such as geo-thermal heating for example. However it seems that in the long term, projects such as this can end up saving money but it may take a number of years.
